II. Business Map
The purpose of a business map is to provide a clear and concise representation of the various products and services offered by a business and how they relate to each other. It helps you (and therefore prospective clients) to understand your business's offerings, interdependencies, and how each offer fits into the overall business strategy. The map can also be used to identify areas for improvement, target new markets, and develop new products and services.
Our business map is roughly defined by four separate variables. Do your best to get as clear, and as close as possible to each in this current moment.

B. Time Allocation: How much time are you spending on each activity?
C. Money/Revenue Projections: How much money is each activity bringing in?
D. Number of Clients or Client Capacity: Who are you serving? How many people can you serve?
III. Pricing
The market determines your rate... But you determine your value. Econ 101 teaches us the interplay of price and demand (when demand goes up, price goes up... and vice versa). It only takes 2 bidders to drive up a price.
Pricing is a function of two things:
- The life you’re committed to.
- This is a simple math equation. What is the minimum income per year that would be fulfilling for you? What is the amount of money you need to live a good life? (Financial Ambition)
- The value of the service.
- This requires you to look back at past clients and collect their testimonials.
- OR get crystal clear about what's in it for them. What experience would be possible for them if they had ABC thing? Typically, measurable goals are less reliable than experience in terms of generating the life you want.
- Ex. For a business… you might ask, how much is the lifetime value of one customer for you? If I were to bring in 2 clients for you via one month of work, what would that be worth to you? OR, if you had a loving and empowered relationship to yourself, what would that be like for you?
Continued Practices
- Begin sketching your Business Map 2.0 (this answers, what does my business look like in a year?)
- Create a coaching blurb to send to friends and colleagues that uses your language to introduce coaching. It's not fair or right to assume that even people that know us well can speak to our work on our behalf. Give them a 2-4 sentence overview of what you do and how you do it. (hint: use ChatGPT if you need a hand)
- With a colleague, practice owning your strengths and connecting it to your Business Map
- Adapt the TCC Pricing Sheet to your own business.
- Reflect and Share:
- Authentic Expression: Share with your buddy the ways you naturally show up and express yourself in community, whether it's through writing, art, speaking, or other means. Discuss any fears or insecurities you have around expressing yourself authentically and how you plan to overcome them.
- Owning Your Spotlight: Journal on where your ego or survival mechanism has led you out of integrity in owning your spotlight. Share your thoughts with your buddy and discuss any patterns or habits you have around playing small in visible spaces. Brainstorm ways to hold yourself accountable to stepping into your power.
